For those just learning to draw, we recommend starting at the beginning of the series, if you’ve already developed fundamental drawing skills the later lessons with their more advanced step by step projects may be more appropriate. There are currently 16 books in the Drawing Mentor series with subjects ranging from simple lines and 3D shapes, to realistic portrait drawing and dragons.

Maybe I'm wanting too much, too soon. I want to get into the nitty gritty of being a sketch artist and really don't want to know about pencil grip and types of lines, but I'm sure that is exactly where an art teacher would start me. So, the book is very basic; it is just a few lessons on drawing shapes and lines. You could practice the pages in a few days and move on. I wouldn't pay more than a dollar for this book.
Great book for someone looking to start drawing it provides a strong understanding of the basically great for any age.
